It was quite funny this morning, a lovely dry bright frosty start like we have had all week. I went to mu local town 5 miles away and 2 miles up the road the weather changed.
But it is still cold, the damp with it makes it worse

Actually, checking dates, the poem was written in 1819 and first published in 1820, however it is set in Medieval times...... so now we have to wonder if it was this cold ( colder I suspect) in Medieval times or if Keats was basing the cold on the cold that was usual in the early 19th century. Anyway, it's a poem that conveys cold well and it's currently 'bitter chill' here too!

Well, I've lived in this valley for over 31 years now and I've never seen fog like this before! GGJ has gone to her bedroom bed, presumably thinking it's night time! I'm very glad I haven't got to go out thisevening.

I'm completely hooked! Not only is it a gripping and very well acted series, but it's fascinating working out exactly where each scene was filmed. It seems funny to us that a southerly wind is cold! I remember visiting Western Oz in the seventies and being utterly dumbfounded that the northerly wind was scorching hot !

It's pretty hot today (32 here at the moment) and poor Maxx does not like the heat. However every now and then the idiot goes and lies on the hot pavers out in the hot sun. Why do they do this? We have to gently encourage him back inside

Yep, it's biblical up there. Elton John was due to play in Auckland last night, but they only cancelled it just before he was due to go on which wasn't smart - should have cancelled it a few hours before as it only added to the traffic chaos. I was awake at 3:30 am and just doomscrolled through all the footage of the city. Unbelievable. These weather events are just going to keep happening and intensifying and governments just aren't doing enough to legislate against emissions because nobody wants to piss off big business.
