What are the best raw bones for our dogs?

Could I please have some thoughts on the best raw bones for Maxx? Our raw online place has lamb necks, Beef brisket bones, Turkey necks, chicken cages, chicken necks, Australian red deer antlers and lamb ribs. They also have large marrow bones but I know they are not good for him. We did try a couple lately and they gave him rock-hard poos and some vomiting the next day so we chucked them out.

We want something that will keep him a bit occupied on the rare times we go out without him and not something that is gone in 10 seconds flat if possible

Thanks!

We give V&H beef rib bones. OK not cheap from our local butcher, but work a treat for them, not to hard to chew on and plenty of meat etc. When they where younger used to get chicken wings and necks.
We stick to the beef ribs, cause there have been times of them throwing up a piece of bone in the past, not chewed properly. Regrading your poo, yep that is right if eating raw, will be a bit harder...
Also I think it comes down to how much he chews the bones, we had both once not chew the neck at all and just swallow it in one go...I know they are small, but seriously....so size will play a factor without it causing issues for their teeth and tummy.

From memory I am sure that if you can get a small imprint of your thumb then the bones should be OK for their teeth, but of course no guarantee.

I like turkey necks for adult dogs, wings and chicken necks for puppies as well as adults. But that's not something that takes longer to actually eat. I'm a big fan of freezing bones and food in Kongs to make them last longer. I used to feed whole frozen chickens to my first dog, but that comes with a caveat that I don't know if freezing bones is bad for their teeth. Maybe someone who knows more could weigh in?

Maybe I'm just a big worrywart, but I'm never comfortable leaving my dog completely alone with any kinds of bones, even Nylabones. My go to "have to leave the dog alone" treat is a frozen Kong. If I do a really good job with the stuffing, that can last Carbon 45 minutes. You can always do two - maybe one frozen and one with something else like peanut butter and kibble - to make it last longer.

I just use frozen kongs. The smaller bones disappeared so quickly and the bigger ones are obviously a no no. Plus she often had a late night vomit of a bit of bone that was just a little big.

I raw feed and the only bones my 2 get are very occasionally a lamb rib but it must have meat on it and every other day chicken bones. I feed the carcass, legs and wings. My preference is chicken thighs as there's a bit more meat on it.
I never leave them unattended with bones . When they get bone it's part of their dinner.
Dry poo is caused by too much bone.

I would never leave Maisy with anything to chew or eat in case she got something caught in her throat and choked, sorry but it has happened and luckily I was there. Kongs, maybe hidden around the house to make them last longer, or a licky mat are the safest. The solid crumbly poo is too much bone at once, maybe give Maxx the bone for a limited time, wrap it in a bag and keep in the fridge for later, make sure he doesn't try and crunch it too hard with his teeth.
