What made me smile today...the conversation in Calendar Updates, swimming costumes, bindie this and bindie that, pretty much every thread had me giggling today. ๐Ÿค—
With you there for sure.
I laughed out loud yesterday reading the Calendar thread. I was in the car and OH insisted I shared what was so funny. I gave him a potted history. I don't think he will ask me again

I decided to get a taxi to buy my Christmas tree today. Someone had offered to take me when they went next weekend but I was worried that all the best ones would be gone by then, so a taxi it was. It felt a bit sad to be going up on my own, Trevor and I always enjoyed choosing the tree together. However, the taxi driver, originally from Pakistan was fascinated by why I wanted a 'fresh' tree when I could save money by having an artificial one. I explained about the tradition of bringing the outside in and said that I thought a real tree looked nicer and I also love the smell. When we arrived at the place that sells the trees I said 'I'll be as quick as I can', expecting him to wait in the taxi, but no! He asked if he could come in with me. He looked around the barn where the trees are kept in amazement, then went from tree to tree, touching and smelling them. He was most enthusiastic about the whole experience and praised me for my choice of tree, saying 'Not too big, not too small, perfect tree, very green, very many branches, beautiful shape!' He watched in fascination as the tree was netted and was quite rapturous (er, is that a word?) about the smell once we were back in the taxi. He then wanted to know what I was going to put on it and beamed with pleasure when I told him that some of the decorations dated back to my childhood. As he dropped me and tree off he thanked me for a very pleasing experience. What a lovely lovely man! I'm still smiling now!:santa::sun:

Catching up on pages and pages and have to say...this thread is making me happy today. @kateincornwall wonderful news about Paul's blood work, @Jen that Christmas card for Stanley from your parents made me go all gooey, @Naya what a day out for your center's kids and @Candy that's the best Christmas tree picking out story I've heard. @jazzmynn now I have to check out that Calendar thread, too.

BEFORE reading through here, this is what made me smile this evening:

I was taking Carbon out to his nearest potty spot to our little studio flat in the old town. It's about the only patch of non-paved ground around - just a spot about 1x3 meters with a tree in the middle and wood chips around it that's on the edge of a car park. You can imagine how "well-used" it is considering the high-dog density in the neighbourhood.

Tonight, Carbon goes to the left of the tree, squats and starts his marathon wee. To the right of the tree, I see a mother with a little boy of about four years old. I think, "What is she doing, telling her son to stand on the dog wee spot?" Then the woman says, "Now see, the dog has one side of the tree and you have the other. Just go ahead and and have a wee just like the dog, ok?"

I couldn't help but giggle, but averted my eyes as the little man proceeded to water the area to the right of the tree just as nicely as Carbon was doing to the left!
