Ever since poor little Joy had that awful retrobulbar abscess last year, she has seemed to think that it's my fault if she hurts herself. If something hurts her, she acts as if she's frightened of me and runs away from me, tail between legs. This has been not only upsetting but also worrying, as it can be difficult to get her to come to me to go back on lead at times. I have lived in hope that this will eventually pass and have deliberately not made a big thing of it. On our walk this afternoon I threw her Orange Thing for her and as she reached for it she yelped and looked at her back end as if something there had hurt. I called her, she paused, then picked her toy up and came to me, dropping it at my feet and accepting cuddles, comfort and praise. I was so pleased! It's taken a year for her to get over that horrible time and I'm hoping that her trust in me is now fully restored. I smiled all the way home!
Pee Ess I think she must have just turned a bit awkwardly, nothing appears to be hurting her now.
