I was surprised at how happy my rainy beach after work walk made me. I was expecting it to be depressing with the weather, but a completely deserted beach in the rain with my goober dog turned out to be a really good time.

I didn't think I would smile today but I did when Steve texted the below picture with a caption 'Mum, I'm in Dog Heaven!'
Periodically he cooks up a massive batch of carrots with a bit of honey and water and blends it then freezes it in empty juice bottles for Kong mix. Maxx LOVES carrots. I have to remember to leave him a couple of sticks every day from my work snack pack as he sits up expectantly after our big welcome home waiting for his carrots

Cassie just made me smile -- one thing she does that irritates me is pinch a piece of wood from the log pile
and chew it, not only is it not very good for her but of course it makes a mess. She did it this morning - sigh - I saw that she'd taken it to her bed, when I went back into the room she had dragged out her blanket into the middle of the floor and was neatly positioned so that her log was not in contact with the carpet .
When she has a Kong or bone she has to do that, and won't put it down until that blanket is there. I swapped her wood for a Kong, now she's doubly happy
and chew it, not only is it not very good for her but of course it makes a mess. An elderly couple stopped me on my walk yesterday evening, and complimented me not only on my exemplary dogs, but also on my OH!!!! Apparently he saw the old couple mushroom picking in the woods, noticed that they were wary of the dogs, whistled them back and put them on the lead and then engaged the couple in mushroom talk. They were so delighted by all this, they just had to tell me how lovely Pops and Merly are (I know) and how delightful my OH is! (when he wants to be, I would add...).

Oh you just have to laugh . This morning , Paul came back from the doctors via Morrisons and walked into the house with a big grin on his face declaring " I had a little win on the lottery , £107 , so I have treated you to something you have wanted for ages " . Anticipation mounting , until he produced a new sweeping brush
