What made you smile today?

I took Ariel in for her manicure/pedicure this morning. I decided to run a few quick errands while I was in town with her. First stop being her nails, 2nd stop getting a small submarine sandwich to bring home for my lunch, then 2 more quick stops after that. I totally forget my sandwich was on the seat of the truck....good little pup never touched it even though it was getting towards her lunch time. ❤❤ This made me smile. 🤗

Are you sure she is a Labrador? :giggl:

What made me smile is watching Maxx recalling from other dogs on the beach yesterday and today. I can't explain it as he has terrible recall and won't even come back in an empty rugby field without distractions, let alone with dozens of dogs running everywhere and the ocean beckoning. But I'll take it!

The news that Mas is home I'm sure has made us all smile, also the lovely feeling of round the clock/round the globe support that we as a forum are able to offer. On a lighter note, after I had finished putting away the Christmas decorations today I decided it was time to hang up a little sign that was one of my presents from my brother and his wife. It says 'It's not drinking alone if your dog is home'. I have hung it on a small hook above the wine rack. I smile every time I look at it.:cheeky:

Big smile this evening for Red. We have new LED lights in our village (they are lovely). Whilst they were putting them up there were bits of pavement missing and temporary covers placed over the gaps. One evening weeks ago, we both stepped on one and it moved - totally freaked Red out. Thereafter, she has pulled badly when we have got to a certain spot before this particular cover. To avoid it she has dragged me onto the grass, almost into the garden of the Manor House, desperate to give it a wide berth. Any passing motorists must have wondered what the heck was going on. For quite a few evenings I have been working on ‘this way’ with a fist full of small treats in front of her nose, then the handful of treats away from her but where she can see/smell. Tonight, I had the treats in my right hand but she walked on the pavement, over the dreaded spot with quite a loose lead. Was SO pleased with her - she has conquered that fear - we had a party 🥳 with the treats ❤

Had a super walk this afternoon with OH and Kipper - we’re determined to get good loose lead walking because, at the moment, Kipper pulls like a train at times and I’d be really nervous to leave him with my mum (primary dog sitter) because he’s so strong. I’ve been working on marking a check-in with a ‘yes’ with a ‘good’ and treat if he comes to the heel position. Today OH did this too really successfully, and it has felt like a real breakthrough! Definitely made us smile :)
