Went to have some bloods done at the GP today (nothing serious) My appointment was at 9.40 at which time Joy and I are usually well into our morning walk. I'd taken her out for 15 minutes to do the necessary, then dropped her back home, telling her I wouldn't be long (as you do!) I was seen promptly, the lady who took my blood was very pleasant and efficient and it was all done in next to no time.I thanked her and said 'Now I can take the dog out properly' She asked what sort of a dog I had and when I told her a Labrador she got that look in her eyes, you know the one we've all had at some stage, and I don't mean the 'I'm really proud of my dog' look. No. The other one. She has a 7 month old male yellow Lab and basically she just wanted to know when things were going to get easier. Once again, we've all been there. Some of us are still there. I gave her the best advice I could think of, which was to come and join us all here. She said she would when she got home this evening. She seemed lovely and said that although they were struggling they were very committed to their dog. What made me smile, apart from being able to recommend MLF unreservedly, was my instant recognition of that HELP! I'VE GOT A LABMONSTER! WHAT HAVE I DONE?! WHEN WILL IT END? sort of look. So please watch out for her, everyone and let's give her a good warm MLF welcome.
