What made you smile today?

My OH coming home today with a big pink plastic dog bed for Cassie.

We're off to the 'big house' next week for the weekend and the big sitting room is up the posh stairs, on discussing the sleeping arrangements for the dogs, I decided I would borrow another plastic dog bed to allow Cassie the choice of lying downstairs or upstairs, without me having to lift her bed up and down.
Today my OH came home with a pink one and it's ours to keep. He knows a guy that does house clearances and he mentioned dog beds and lo and behold he produced this pink one.

Merlin CHAAAAAARGING around the muddy fields this afternoon. He loves England!

Our 10-year-old nieces are coming to stay at our rental cottage with us tonight. They have been so looking forward to it, as they are dog crazy and adore Poppy and Merlin. We’ll have fish and chips, watch a dog-based movie (I’ve found a dvd of White Fang in the dvd collection), and they’ll sleep on the pull-out couch in the sitting room. Doubtless with the dogs!

We need to get a hook for the fridge so I can have the calendar in the kitchen.

My parents took Rowan for the afternoon so OH and I could go out for lunch (very good Thai) and watch Star Wars. The movie was very predictable, but predictably heartwarming. We entered our wedding reception to the Throne Room music so it is a bit special. Also, Chewie!! Let's just say that a great historical wrong has been remedied.

I've had a lovely couple of days at the beach with my boys. It's been really nice to see Nathan playing with his friends and it's been great for OH and I to spend some quality time with him on his own, without Ella too.

I've also received lovely photos of Ella playing with her new friends, snuggling on the couch with the sitter and sprawling across the middle of their bed at bedtime! Apparently she's not too picky about which human she shares a bed with :giggl:

Finally, this afternoon, the men booked us three ladies dinner at a local winery and sent us on our way for the evening. It was wonderful 🥰. The food, the company, the sunset over the vines (shame I couldn't drink the wine). What a perfect start to the new year. Can't wait to see my girl tomorrow though.

This is not a doggy thing, but I have resolved to educate myself about astronomy. I've subscribed to the YouTube channel Crash Course Astronomy (done by astronomer Phil Plait) and it's freaking awesome. My mind has been blown about 20 times already and I'm only up to episode 10. The universe is amazing. Nature is amazing.
