Smiled ,and laughed when Paul was on the phone to his computer tutor to make an appointment , telling him that he did find it all constipated ( meant complicated ! ) x

This made me smile

I have four pairs of slippers all of which I use every day.

My leather fit flop mules - downstairs and popping outside slippers.
Sheepskin ‘boot’ slippers for watching TV in.
Bathroom slippers - bamboo mules.
Bedroom slippers - really gorgeous very expensive fluffy slippers which I bought for my DIL then realised they were too small for her. I love putting them on, they definitely belong in the ‘make me smile’ thread.

I smiled yesterday as we had a barbie with 9 guests and every single one said Maxx was quite well behaved. He was beside himself at first and had to be put behind baby gates as he was leaping around and mouthing anyone who tried to pat him. Once he settled we let him on the deck with everyone and he made a bit of a nuisance of himself greeting everyone a dozen or more times but otherwise he was pretty good.

My friends new boyfriend just sat there while Maxx nuzzled his legs. I asked him if he liked dogs and he said 'I don't like any animals'. What the? I liked him up until then

Another friend is very afraid of dogs, especially big ones, but Maxx won her over I think she even tentatively patted him

However.....I didn't smile when we were out the front saying bye to the last departures at about 10.00pm when Maxx saw something down the street and bolted. Hubby had him on the lead but was unprepared and ended up face planting the footpath. He has grazed knees, elbows and a big bruise on his shoulder and a badly bruised heel. God bless him, he didn't let go of the dog. He is very sore and sorry for himself today understandably.

Sounds like Maxx was a superstar (overlooking the last hiccup - hope your OH recovers quickly poor fellow. Good on him though!). Progress, progress! What a weird chap not liking ‘any animals’? It’s like people who say they don’t like any fruit or vegetables. But weirder

Maxx sounds like he did well. It’s always a bit difficult when you entertain lots of people with a young dog but it does get a lot easier.

I smiled this morning as I walked down the driveway, OH was clipping Maxx into the back of the hatchback as always but his tail each hanging out so OH tenderly tucked it under his bottom and closed the lid. Awwww

As I came back in from the garden with the dogs first thing this morning, Red saw DH in the kitchen making coffee - she shot across the utility, through to the kitchen and him, body wagging ‘fit to bust’ - she is always so pleased to see him. Her joyful full-on body wags always make me smile . She is so affectionate - she then came to sit with me so I could stoke her head and chest

My favourite time is arriving home from work and Maxx practically bursts at the seam with happiness he dashes down the stairs and weaves around my legs and practically quivers with joy.

A friend of mine in Ireland lost his dog two weeks ago. Today, he got her back; she had been taken in by a kind family, and they eventually were reunited through the power of social media. Not sure why they didn't get her scanned by a vet, but at least they have kept her warm and well, and returned her when they found out who her real owner was

Joy and I met up with Mags and Spencer today. It went well, the dogs had a good race round and we had a nice lunch in a pub. All this has made me smile. Mags has now shown me how to post photos. She said she expected me to have a try at it now, today and that this is my homework. That also made me smile. If I can actually manage to do it I will be smiling even more. Here goes!
