I smiled today , well actually I laughed because Paul got stuck in his electric recliner when the motor died and he was flat out ! Cutting a long story short , I had to ease a shower curtain under him, in order to slide him out whereupon he landed in the floor and I couldn't lift him , so onto hands and knees , one arm on me, one on the coffee table , all going swimmingly well when the table leg broke ! Reuben thought this was great fun , and I`m afraid I couldn't stop laughing at the spectacle before me x

Funny, but I do hope you're both OK. This aging business can lack dignity at times and a sense of humour is a great asset. Sounds like you dealt with it very well!
