That is what Granma's are forMy mam has Rory last night.
That's so lovely, what a sweetheartThe sound of eagerly pounding Labrador paws, and there's my girl bringing me a cork, putting it proudly at my feet and looking up at me for her treat! Big smile on my face! Funny sweet girl!![]()
Yes, the pots are easier to move as they're so much lighter than gravel. I get my wine drinking friends ( that's most of them!) to save them for me too. What a GGJ![]()
I never thought of using corks like that, excellent idea.
Have a brilliant time, and yes, photos please!I’m excited because I’m off to Heidelberg tomorrow to be with the little family. My son returns to work on Monday after nearly three month’s paternity leave and they are both feeling a bit wobbly about the idea.
Omi to the rescue!

I’ve been practicing nice veggie meals so the menu is cheese and onion pie, quiche, mushroom risotto, pasta bake, and bean goulash in that order. I stay in a nice little flat across the road so I can be of help but not in their way. I have left a suitcase there with dressing gown, straighteners, boots, trainers, slippers and other stuff so I’ve only got hand luggage to take. I bought a posh new hand luggage suitcase for the trip, its very smart and all packed ready. Mr Boogs is on dog duty at home, then - when I return - he’s going for a week of Opa duties.
My flight is silly o’clock - so no wine tonight!
I’ll be cuddling Anuka by lunchtime!
Yes - they have two years 4 months to share. He’s had three months, Tina is having 12 months then he’s having another 12 months. He can’t wait until his turn! They are both nurses and both end up on 1/3 pay while on parental leave ‘tho the first six months is more.Bloody hell 3 months paternity. I had a baby in the wrong country!
Have a lovely time x
Another thing we noticed on our trip - you still have corks in your wine. We've had 99% screw tops for years. I really miss corksYes, the pots are easier to move as they're so much lighter than gravel. I get my wine drinking friends ( that's most of them!) to save them for me too.
Ummmm not if you buy your wine from Aldi like we do! Screw tops all the way here!Another thing we noticed on our trip - you still have corks in your wine. We've had 99% screw tops for years. I really miss corks![]()
That's amazing! We work as sole traders/contractors so get nothing (but can't really complain as we get paid very well and can go back to work very flexibly), but if we were working in the public health system I would get 6 months at full pay or 12 at half pay. Most men only get 2 weeks, if that. I feel like Europe is so far ahead in so many ways.Yes - they have two years 4 months to share. Why this country has rejected the EU I do not know. I’m so thankful he’s a German citizen!
I really like screw top bottles for sheer ease of opening, but the corks do come in handy as my garden is nearly all patio, so lots of containers. I don't entirely choose my wine according to method of bottle stopping though!Ummmm not if you buy your wine from Aldi like we do! Screw tops all the way here!
