I grinned like the Cheshire cat this morning when Reuben went to greet a rather haughty looking couple , I just knew he was going to jump up which he sort of did, more of a hoppity jump . Lady gave me " the look " , not amused , but then their own young Border Collie appeared from the undergrowth and promptly launched itself at me , Karma at its best xxx

It always amazes me how newborn puppies all look so similar; they bear so little resemblance to the adult dog they will become.

There’s quite a range with ours are we have miniatures but we also have more medium/standard sized doodles. The smallest puppy we’ve ever had was 109g at birth and she was a strong little one! But another one I can remember was approximately 540g when born... so quite a big difference!

My oh and I went to buy a lamp. When we got through the shop door we were asked if we mind that the dogs were wandering around. We said no of course. We were encountered by two flat coat retrievers. One 3 year old female and a chocolate flat coat pup of 20 weeks. They were so sweet! What made me smile was that I had dog treats in my bag and that I learned the youngest of the two to go down. The owner of the shop and dog said that he couldn’t do that. While my oh bought the lamp I teaches him this with the treats I had in my pocket!

I smiled at Reuben last night . He hated the car to start with but slowly realised that it was a means to a nice end . We bought a dog guard so that he could go in the back on his waterproof bed, expecting him to object big style . We took Silas to McDonalds for his tea as a treat , Paul offered to eat his in the car so that we could take the dogs and test the dog guard . I stuffed a kong for the lad, in he went and was good as gold , hardly a peep out of him which pleased us all greatly x
