What made you smile today?

That's very kind of him. It doesn't seem as if they are the sort of people who want any contact with others at all, even if they need help. So sad.
How magnanimous of Paul to offer help and how dignified of him to walk away after yet more abuse.

Dear God what is wrong with these people?
Sadly there are many around. There’s always one (or two) who mar things for all. We are surrounded by good neighbours here.....except for the woman at the back who I have mentioned on threads before. We still have an unresolved issue with her rotting/falling apart/unsightly fence at the back of our garden. She will not engage in a conversation so we can ascertain how we are going to resolve the problem yet she is happy to swear loudly when her dog’s snarling sets Red off.

Bet you were mad @kateincornwall to hear your husband was verbally abused (as well as proud of course)?

Normally Hunter is happy to stay outside of the bedroom and wait at the gate until he hears me waking up. OH forgot to close the gate and I got a nice tail wag thumping wall alarm wake-up call, just as the birds started singing. Hunter, who very rarely jumps on the bed (as it hurts his joints), decided to take the opportunity to join me. OH had sneaked off to the toilet so Hunter lay on his side of the warm bed. I got Hunter's head and his paw firmly on my hand and OH got his back and bum. OH also got a fright as he climbed back in bed :giggl:.

I was late finishing vaccinating today, all I could think about was getting home and being outside somewhere with Cassie. When I did get home my daughter was already out with the dogs, I phoned her to see where they were and went to meet them.
Cassie made me smile so much _ she must have recognised me from a good 200 yds away, and came full pelt across the field to greet me and then had the most massive zoomie :happyfeet::happyfeet::hearteyesdog::laughdog: .
Then decided to climb on my lap when I sat down, she's not a cuddly dog at all so that's a big deal. 😊

Kipper has invented a new game which we now play in the evenings. We’re not quite sure of all the rules yet, but it involves him taking my OH’s boot (he has to go and change shoes for this!) off his foot, and then trotting between the kitchen and the sitting room while one of us follows him. If we take too long, he squeaks to be chased from the other room. The best thing is seeing how very pleased he is that we’re playing his game - his grin and tail wagging (shown in the photo by a blur!) are just fantastic. This is stage 2: displaying the boot (followed by stage 3, trotting between the legs of the ‘chaser’ into the other room) -B0439663-5A19-413B-B8E3-2242F1C88422.jpeg

Maxx plays similar games most evenings after dinner. Even though we are keen to collapse on the couch after a busy day we know that we need to make time for him and simulate his mind and give him the attention he craves. We end up having just as much fun :)

Aah dear Kipper ❤

Late afternoon is Red’s playtime - she usually instigates play by getting something from her toy basket which she doesn’t bother about any other time. During the winter we played ‘Find the Fish’ every afternoon and she would just go and ‘hide’ in her nighttime bed to show she was ready to play 😂
