Love Kipper - he's so full of fun and happiness. 😍 @HAH.
Thank you @Selina27 ! I value this a great deal, it really is in his nature.
I was reflecting yesterday that he might have been a very different, more fearful boy if we didn't have all the forum expertise and support we've had; it's taught us so much about seeing the dog in front of you and helping them to be themselves in a human world. He's really settled in his skin and we've learnt so very much from him.

Totally spot on.

The expertise on here, and I have to say the one before, (without which I wouldn't be here myself) combined with +R gundog training definitely gave me the confidence to train the dog I have ,to our mutual happiness

GGJ and I are going away! We ran into my friend Shelli and her rescue black Lab Buddy and she told me that our mutual friend Nadine and husband Damien have moved to Clapham, North Yorkshire. Shelli and Buddy are booked into the New Inn, a dog friendly pub/ hotel there on the 17th and 18th of May. She said 'Why don't you come with us?' So I rang and booked it and all being well we'll be off in just over three weeks! I know Clapham quite well, Trevor and I spent a lot of weekends up there with both previous dogs and did a lot of walking. He also did pot holing and caving, but I prefer to stay above ground. I'm so excited to be going back and showing it all to Joy! Big smiles today!

Kipper has invented a new game which we now play in the evenings. We’re not quite sure of all the rules yet, but it involves him taking my OH’s boot (he has to go and change shoes for this!)
LOVE this! Benson has a similar game... it's called "Chase me I have a WABBIT!" Took us a while to work out the rules... I think we have got it! He gets ridiculously excited when it's wabbit game time! :inlove:

Smiles here - the Clay Shooting ranges are open after our 6 week lockdown. We've become members at the competition range near to home and shot a reasonable round of Pro Sporting clays yesterday along with another chap and his son yesterday (Saturday is practice day :) ) Then this morning we went up North to the new range which is more simulated game, on a hillside amongst the gorse. This range is developing really nicely. I hope it flourishes because it really suits us. We shot 2 good rounds up there and the chap who runs it is excellent at instructing. Access to is a nightmare though - a steep, zigzag forest single track. Very rough. I think you'd struggle without a rugged 4-wheel drive. Today there was some kind of motocross event on on the same hill, coming back down the track was fraught. Motorbikes going up. An ambulance parked on the zig in the track leaving not enough space to pass, we had to put 2 wheels on a steep bank and squeeze past, almost rolling into the ambulance. The flippin driver just stood there, waving us forward instead of moving his vehicle forward a couple of feet! The 2 lads after us had abandoned their little car in the only other passing place and walked up.

On the way home we stopped off at a military surplus sale in a disused chapel. I got a cute little camo bag with pockets and straps & a camo hat with a big brim - both really useful dog walking accessories.
