But don't you find it too quiet?

I remember when Scott and Sophie were both at primary school and both on a school trip together that extended into early evening. First time probably we were at home together with neither child home. We both came home from work and didn't know what to do, it was so quiet. Think we probably had a cat nap until they came back.
I remember when my second started university - we didn’t know what to do with ourselves!

We're going to Little Brother's tomorrow and staying until next Saturday. While we're away the hall carpet is being taken up and replaced with tiles which will make much more sense than a carpet given that Joy and I are in and out trailing mud and dust and wet several times a day all year round. So today I have vacuumed the hall carpet for THE LAST TIME EVER! :dug::cancan::celebrate::partyhat::happyfeet::celebrate:
A thought that is making me smile a lot!😀😀😀

We met up with some friends today to walk the dogs across our special golf course. It made a real change as normally we just walk on our own, not seeking human interaction. They brought their two labradoodles, and we had a lovely time in the warm, but not too warm weather, followed by some drinks in the local brewery which is a complete secret if you don't know it's there, and completely dog friendly. Bear got a little over threshold, but it was manageable.

OH commented that they weren't waxing lyrical over the golf course, but I reminded him they have very different dogs who are frequently pavement walked and they don't go seeking out solitude on walks like we do- because of Bear- so they probably haven't caught on to the attraction that we have to the place.

BUT @Candy, you will have to vacuum or sweep the new tiles every day as it dust shows more on tiles :giggle:
Ah, but they're patterned tiles, with quite a lot of grey in them ( the colour that comes in most from outside) so nothing will show so much and anything sticky will be easier to mop than vacuum and the carpet has been there for at least 22 years and is so very sad and tired looking that the tiles can only be a great improvement!

Is it just for light cleaning @Jacqui-S
Enough to wipe away muddy footprints!
I use it for inbetween mop washes.
Obviously with laminate you shouldn't get it too wet so this is perfect.
Also handy to fill it with simple solution to clean up after puppy pees.
They are £15 on offer at Argos right now.
I don't use their cleaner, just Flash or pledge laminate cleaner or the simple solution.

We have tiles and I would highly recommend a steam mop. No chemicals and removes doggie prints very easily!

I bought a steam mop and I don't like it, seems heavy and I think it is pulling up the strips between the tiles. I will go back to hands and knees :giggle: However, if I had stone or ceramic tiles and a large area, I am sure it is excellent for cleaning.
