When we had carpet in the hallway Joy used to like lying by the back door and keeping an eye on the garden. Since the carpet has been replaced by tiles she hasn't quite been able to decide where to lie. However the new doormats arrived on Friday and I have just come out of the kitchen to see that she now has her favourite spot back again, which has made me smile.

As so often, Cassie gets my smile for today
I thought we'd just pop out and do some retrieving this afternoon. I set her up behind a big bale, so I could put down some blinds. Having strode out about 50yds to place the dummy I turned round to see her standing on top of said big bale -- watching me

Joy, such a perfect position. They are lovely tiles. I think I want our hall tiled - it's a '70's bungalow so no idea what to choose, but they would be infinitely more practical than beige carpet. Fed up of scrubbing sick.....

I am already finding the tiles so much easier to keep reasonably clean than the carpet was. I don't tend to have problems with sick, but even in winter Joy and I are in and out of the garden several times a day and the mud after walks is ridiculous, not to mention Kong residue! My tiles aren't slippy under paw, came from B&Q and were only £14.99 per square metre. I'm really pleased with them.
