What made you smile today?

Rachel, one of the many lovely people who I met on my fantastic holiday around Turkey has been visiting for the last couple of days and we have done LOTS of walking. Thismorning we were at Hardcastle Crags and she wanted to take a selfie. This is not something I'd normally do but I have to admit that this one of the three of us made me smile.IMG-20221028-WA0001.jpg

What a lovely, lovely happy photo and you all three look so good.
I did wonder if we would still get on as well as we did on holiday and well, the answer is a resounding Yes! We have hardly been able to stop talking and have crammed lots of lovely things to do into our two days. Best of all though, Rachel and GGJ loved each other straight away!

Glad to see this @Candy , hope the back/leg isn't giving you trouble x
It tends to seize up a bit if I sit for too long and is still a bit painful but nothing like as bad as it was prior to taking the medication and improving on a daily basis, so I have been able to do the walking that I had planned, which is what I was hoping for.:happyfeet:

I don't know if it's really the right approach, but (probably because I love fireworks myself) I have always taken my dogs into the garden to watch them and given them praise and treats for remaining calm and all of them have subsequently been fine around them as long as they can actually see what they are, rather than just hearing random bangs outside. I'm no expert by any means, but it just seems to work and I can honestly say I have never had a dog who has been frightened by fireworks. However my neighbours have just told me that Asda is selling quiet fireworks this year. How wonderful! This is surely the way forward.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon with our neighbours from two doors down, totally on the spur of the moment. I took Rowan over there to do some water play with their daughter, who is around the same age. They are get along really well.
Then they came over to our place and the kids played until about 4pm when the little ones got a bit... Tired/hangry and needed a break.
Oh and they brought their Labrador Angus over. He and Chewie adore one another. They played and played and then lay on the lawn cuddling.

Oh, how lovely for you to have found neighbours not only with a friend for Rowan, but one for Chewie as well!
Pee Ess, hope you like them too!...It's sounding like you probably do.

I because of were I live got them used to fireworks even feeding them outside when they are going off and playing with them. Fireworks here start around the end of September and go on until after new year. Recently the bangs have got smaller and we get less fireworks now. It's definitely better
