What made you smile today?

The kids at preschool wrote letters to Santa with help from their teachers. R dictated his as follows:

Dear Santa

For Christmas I would like lots of yoghurt and lots of toy cars please.

Love Rowan K (it's a really long name)

The teacher had actually written "(it's a really long name)" because that's what he said. Also... Yoghurt?? Anyway, Santa has bought some matchbox cars and will buy a fancy yoghurt for Christmas breakfast. ๐Ÿ˜

Just very simply the pain from my Sciatica going (almost completely) and being able to take my GGJ for our usual walks again is making me smile so much! I think I tend to take good health and fitness for granted, being blessed with both most of the time, and I honestly hadn't realised how important our morning walks ( usually about an hour and a half, no matter what the weather) were to me.
It's made me so happy today to be able to resume this and I think I will never again take it for granted.

@Candy, so pleased for you that your Sciatic has almost gone, do you know why, did it just go with rest? I am asking as I have a friend who has had sciatica for over a year now and it shows no sign of improving. It must be heaven to have your morning walks again, though not sure about this morning, black ice here!

Rorys got an eye infection (that isnโ€™t what made me smile!).

He hates having the drops in and now heโ€™s cottoned on Iโ€™ll be coming again he keeps saying randomly โ€œmy eye feels much better now Mammyโ€.

๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ they learn from so early on the tricks.

Great Too Much!
Never heard that, but very apt indeed. I'll be doing mine today aswell.

My tree is staying in the garden, lit by fairy lights.

For years we've had a minor tussle in this house -- I've wanted an artificial one for various reasons but my son and daughter insisted on real. I always found when I was working (with little time off over Christmas) that sourcing a real one and getting it set up in the house was a hoo-ha too far, and hankered after one with roots in a pot.

Last year my son came home with a non-shedding tree with a root ball, saying that;s it now Mum, my last offering! Marvellous! I duly put it in a pot -- which I now can hardly budge because it is so heavy!

Neither of them are coming home for Christmas this year , so outside the front it will stay, looking very pretty!

We went to get a tree last weekend, but leaving it late ( ?? really), there were only 7-8ft ones left. Too big for our house. We turned to go and the chap said "well there's only those over there, but they're rubbish" - there were 3 odd looking 4ft-ers, in stands, decorating the front of the shop. Well let's have a look.... - and so we got the "ex-display tree".
