What made you smile today?

Spending 20 minutes with Cass on beautiful summers evening, throwing her little snipe dummy (as advised by @Jelinga a good few years ago now) into grass waiting to be cut for hay, long and dense- just where she likes to work :happy: My funny quirky girl, the more difficult and the longer it takes to find the happier she is :smiledog:.
I remember where and when we did this 😊 I had every confidence in her that she would eventually love it.

You did. I'd love to know how you knew, when other experienced "traditional" trainers washed their hands of her when she wouldn't retrieve in plain sight!
She didn't appear interested but I knew she would be if the key to her interest could be unlocked, which I think we began to do that that day. Cassie is a dog who needs the excitement of hunting, a dummy in plain sight is easy peasy and she probably didn't understand what was required.

Now that Joy is going to the vet once a month for her Librela injection, she's becoming more comfortable there, and sometimes just a teensy bit cheeky! She has always disliked getting on the scales, needing a bit of persuasion in the form of treats. However as soon as we arrived today she went straight over to them, walked on to them and did a beautiful 'Sit', whilst staring intently at the receptionist. The receptionist laughed and of course gave her a treat, then Joy got off. As soon as I had sat down with her she walked back to the scales and repeated the performance, so was given another treat. No sooner had we sat down a second time, than off she went again!...and so on!:giggl:
Lots of chuckles and smiles in the waiting room today!

I loved that Molly wanted me to play with her when I got home today. (She'd been with my OH while I was at Rally with Rajah). She shoved a slipper at me so I got a squeaky soft toy out of the cupboard and we had a game of tug, which she hasn't wanted to do for ages. She seems in better health than she was last autumn, generally more lively and active which makes me very happy. I wonder if she had some sort of virus for a couple of months towards the end of last year - she didn't seem ill just lacking in energy. Anyway it was wonderful to have a game with her today.
