What made you smile today?

It's only over the past week that Serenity cat has finally started venturing out into the living room. Last night I came home from the dog walk and she was sitting on OH's lap! Xena isn't totally relaxed, unfortunately, and if I'm not quick enough she'll charge off the sofa behaving like a dick, but this is such massive progress. Serenity isn't staunch like Daisy was and won't stand her ground, and I don't think that the other cat will ever come out, but I'll take what I can get.

Just hang in there, we still see improvements with how our elderly cat is becoming more accepting (or perhaps just more senile) with Monty. She has now started walking over him to get to us if he's in the way. She wouldn't have done this a year ago, and two years ago they didn't share a sofa, which they frequently do now.

Not at all dog related but this made me smile a lot. Took my mum to yet another hospital appointment - urgh. She wasn't allowed to eat beforehand. Afterwards, I took her to a lovely café - took quite a bit of management getting her from car park to café but we managed with her trendy walker. Once inside, I left her sitting at a table and went to the counter to order. The lady who took our order looked over at my mum and said to me ‘what a beautiful lady’. I said ‘that’s my mum and she’s 97’. Felt so proud of my mum and put a huge smile 😊 on my face

This made me smile so much! It's very easy to be dismissive of the elderly; people seem to forget that (with luck) we will all be there someday. What a wonderful lady; I'd have hugged her :)
