Have you not had “summer” out west? We’ve been blessed with a hot, sunny, humid summer after the unbearable winter we had.We’re on holidays too!!! Sunny SAN Diego today and then off to the desert tonight. Hot, sun, beach, pool....finally I get a taste of summer! Yippee!! We’ve had a super busy and stressful last 6 months so it’s just such a blessing to have some down time. Wondering if we could take a cruise on this “boat” we saw in San Diego bay?

I met a lovely older man today who wanted to say hi to Chewie. He had lots of questions about Labradors and dog training. He said that he had worked with horses but didn't know much about dogs, except that he likes retrievers and admires people who get the best out of their animals. It was very sweet, but I think he thought I am much better at dog training that I am, and that Chewie is much more angelic than he is.
Well, he is angelic in the sense of his temperament, just not always his behaviour.

So yesterday afternoon at work, some puppies were chasing a butterfly across the paddock. Then Oreo went over to see what all the fuss is about... she was scared of the butterfly

I remember Cass doing that aged about 10 weeks -- she ran right into the stream, very shallow, because she was so focussed on the butterfly she didn't look where her feet were going!
