I'm home safely by the fire, have eaten my cauliflower cheese, got my jarmies on, all cosy with GGJ. The untold story is simply that, having left London, the Puzzle was about the first pub I went to where people were like minded, not racist, sexist, had done stuff other than just live in the same place all their lives, had travelled, embraced different cultures, thought different thoughts. I must have been a regular Friday nighter there for about 8 or nine years before I started getting to know Trevor, and it took about another 18 months before we got together. Joy and I had a lovely time there tonight. Saw people I haven't seen for ages, lots of old and friendly faces, a few drinks bought, stayed longer than I'd intended but no harm done. Very good to be back there, and here is the sign above the fireplace, which says it all really.
