What made you smile today?

I came out smiling after my Gp appt ., :). Of course, his room was as far away from the waiting area as could be, so it was ages before I got going enough for my knee joint to get "oiled". How are you he said, bear in mind my face looks like I've had 3 rounds with that Tyson wotsit in a boxing ring, I just looked at him and he started grinning. Had to cover his mouth with his hand so I couldn't see but of course I started laughing too. That wasn't much of a fight was it? he said. Cue more laughing. He asked me what analgesia I have taken, Arnica I said. His eyebrows shot up and he did me a script for naproxen, which I avoid as much as possible, and a stomach liner. I don't want to waste NHs money, so I told him I won't take enough to be worthwhile having. He said I'm special :cwl:. Was there anything else he could do? Make my knee as good as when I was 20 please. More laughter, not to worry cos apparently I look very good for my age!!:cwl::cwl:

Either he's a master of flannel, or he'd had a long trying day and was close to hysteria, but either way it was excellent medicine :)

I moved it into position, turned around to switch the lamp off, and turned around to find that Ella had manage to reposition herself along the entire length of the pillow 🙄😂.

Now I'm hanging off the side of the mattress while she sleeps like a princess. As usual.
Chewie was obsessed with my body pillow! I think it was the same one too.

And just recently we bought some foam matting for Rowan to crawl/cruise around on and it is now Chewie's...

That sounds like probably a good GP who knows you well. I don't think many of them get the chance to do that so much nowadays, which is a shame. I currently feel that the vet knows and understands me far better than whoever my GP is.
Pee Ess not the fault of the GP, more how the system is.

Well no, I've never seen him before. I haven't seen a Gp for 3 yrs, and then about my knee, there have been massive changes in the doctors in recent years. Like many places, they can't recruit up here, and they don't stay ;long. None of the partners who I worked with 20 years ago in the cottage hospital are there anymore.

He just seemed to have a bit of a knack!!

That doctor sounds like a natural @Selina27 There do seem to be a few around still, though few and far between. @Candy is right though, time is not something they have a lot of in our overloaded system.
I hope you are managing with the knee pain though - I won't say I hope it's better because I'm aware it won't get better until and unless you get a new one

OH and I had the day off today. My work does a day off for your birthday (it actually works out more cost effective for the business to give someone the day off than pay for everyone to stop for cake for half an hour every time it's someone's birthday).

We walked Ella and dropped Nathan at childcare then went to the beach for a bike ride and some lunch.

The only downside is that our 40km bike ride has left my bottom feeling very sore and I'm a little scared of how my legs might be feeling in the morning 😬

We watched a programme last night , about the baking of French baguettes and it brought back a memory which made me smile . We hadnt long been living in France , in a big old village house , when my then elderly Mother and Step Father came to stay for a week . Mother was very keen to fetch the bread from the village bakers every morning but despite her rehearsing the words in French , she always forgot and had to point at what she wanted . So I wrote her a note , phonetically so that she could read it out, it read " oon baget seal voo play , mersee " and off she set , returning with the baguette . Well done , I said , so you managed to say it ? No , she replied , I gave them the note
