What made you smile today?

Once again the wind is howling, the rain is lashing against the windows and I really should be off to bed. I treated myself to these beautiful white tulips today though. They were in tight bud when I put them in the vase but over the course of the evening they've been opening in the warmth from the stove and they're making me smile, so I think I'll put some music on and just sit for a bit longer. The whole point of being retired, surely? This too of course!IMG_20200311_230436.jpgIMG_20200310_195233.jpg

Steak is a staple in this house. Easy to chuck in the pan and have with salad or roasted veg
Sophie is a right carnivore.
Mind you, dogs don't get a look in.
Tonight I was making Kate's Cornish pasties
Sand here - we love steak above all else and are both carnivores. Maxx does get my leftovers for treats and training (we buy large sirloins or rib-eyes and they're too big for me)

She wasnโ€™t happy because mum was cutting up steak and I was keeping her away taking photos - you can see sheโ€™s slightly looking up at the worktop :giggl: I donโ€™t blame her(!) but trust me, sheโ€™s a lot happier now than before!
But did she get just a little bit for standing looking so beautiful?!

OH is away at his mum & dad's and I have got out of going! I do love them, but I'd rather not stay with them. Now I have 3 nights in a double bed, all to myself and my 2 snuggle-bugs, no man-snoring. I don't have to eat meat until he's back on Monday..and I am sipping a Mojito before a very early bed. I am smiling all over.

** I do enjoy a little meat, but we have it all the time because he's a Meat Eater.
