Thatβs grand news!I have been wanting a garden shed and a covered log store for a while now. A friend was going to build them for me but he had to finish fitting a kitchen for the friends who were flooded last year and trying to put things in place to reduce their risk of flooding again. This all took a long time as the people who did the repairs when they were flooded in 2015 apparently didn't do a good job, so he had to undo much of what they had done.
Anyway he got the drawings and costing to me last week and he started work thismorning! He's got lots of really good ideas and is going to put water butts in for me, a transparent roof on the shed so I can use it for over wintering plants and all sorts of other things. I'm really excited about it and pleased that he's finally started !![]()
We have a firepit in our fly-free. It's awesome, and allows us to make use of the outside even when it's a bit cooler. You'll love it! Ours is the top of an old cast iron BBQ, because we can't use charcoal BBQs here.Thatβs grand news!
Iβve asked my brother to bring his welding skills to bear and make me a fire pit from scrap metal. Hopefully we will be allowed people in the garden again some day. I envisage having friends and family round (only two at a time) for coffees or lunch or evening drinks.

Yes, what a find she was, it must make all the difference to you, knowing she's there.I truly am blessed with Anna .
My dog walkers are a god send. Despite working at home I can't always give them the run they need, and they - especially Bear - has such a good time racing about with doggy friends who keep up with him. It means I can do a full day's work, finish by six, take a few breaks to have very short play and training sessions with them, and time to cook dinner and a relatively free evening. I feel much less stressed when they are fully exercised.I truly am blessed with Anna . I didnt feel too great last night , think I walked too far in the wrong footwear and ended up with horrible back ache . Anna came to pick up Reubens friend Mia the Rhodesian Ridgeback from over the road , so I called out to ask if she could fit Reuben in as an extra today . ` Course I can ` she called back , ` always got room for Reubs ` , bless her , she really has been a blessing and of course the big black monster adores her which makes it easy for me to part with him for a few hours xx
I wish I could speak at least another language. I try to learn French on and off but its a case of one step forward and three steps back. All the courses I have found are all about accurate spelling of all the tenses. I need to find dyslexic friendly French that's all about the speaking and conversation.I found a new online - and totally free - Italian course today. It looks amazing, plus there are tons of other classes presented by top US and other universities around the world. Not sure if this was around pre-COVID, but getting access to "Ivy League" courses is sure a lockdown plus.

My brain is frying from German study overload and I've been using Spanish a ton for work lately, so that leaves Italian as my "fun" language!![]()
You could look at italki.com. There are native-language speakers on there who teach across the whole range of levels. I have a lovely young Spanish/Catalan lady who I use for practicing conversational language with, and she corrects everything I get wrong, which is just what I need. And she costs the princely amount of β¬5 per half hour session!I wish I could speak at least another language. A fly-free area - most houses in the campo here have them because, living amongst fruit farms as we do, there are times of year when there are a lot of flies about and they're a nuisance! So it's basically like a conservatory, but instead of glass walls and ceiling, they're just mosquito netting. So you're outside but protected.Ok, you've stumped me!![]()
