What made you smile today?

It was a beautiful day on this side of Cornwall today, really felt like spring. I took Carbon to Porthcothan and planned on walking the coastal path as we were going at high tide, which at Porthcothan means almost no beach. The car park was about 1/4 full, quite a few big SUVs which are almost certainly not local. Too big and posh and not enough seagull poo (a mark of Cornish pride?).

Anyway, I got a good chuckle out of a couple groups of young (late teen/early 20's) people out on the coastal path. I don't know where they come from, but every time there's a big old sunny day you see them: path is ankle deep mud and there is always someone (or several someones) wearing totally wrong shoes. One guy had (formerly) pristine white trainers on, gingerly picking his way down the path and a woman had SANDALS on, mud splattered up to her knees. A couple weeks ago (aka the last time we had a full day of sun), I saw two girls wearing Uggs and squishing their way through a cow field. Ew.

If they seemed miserable, I wouldn't get such a laugh out of it, but they all seem thrilled to be sloshing along the through the mud. Heck, more power to them!

But I do love my Wellies and when there's this much muck...THEY make me smile. And keep my feet happy. 😁

I got to have a visit with my friends today. They’ve recently changed restrictions so you can meet up to 10 outside so myself and my 3 friends decided to go to the park and meet up as it looked like it might be warm enough. 8C and sunny...but a very stiff, cold wind. So....one of them owns a business and so we went there and sat socially distant around the board room table. So nice to see them and have a chat.

I have a lovely mix of office work and WFH right now. I work four days per week, two in the office and two from home.

It means I'm only leaving Ella a couple of days per week and I'm managing the juggle of school and childcare drop off's and pick ups.

I honestly feel like that I'm as close to the holy grail of work life balance as humanly possible.

Honestly , I can read him like a book  I had asked Paul to go to the village shop to draw some cash out , he kept putting it off saying he was doing something ( he wasnt ) and then at 11.30 he declared that he was going . How ironic that this coincides with the shop taking delivery of local hot pasties and sausage rolls
How bizarre that the planets Aline thus. It's almost as if he knew. ♥

This small piece of pink thing is as far as Joy's concerned, her new ball. She found it up on the moor today and carried it carefully round with her, dropping it at my feet with a meaningful stare every time I stopped walking. What's more, she also convinced Maud, Fiona's Fox Terrier pup, that it was a new ball. They spent a lot of time sneakily stealing it from each other, then launching it back! Joy won, and proudly carried it all the way home, presenting it to Mark, my shed builder and asking if perhaps he might like to throw it for her.20210223_165321.jpgHere it is next to an actual ball to give an idea of its size ( or lack of!)🤣20210223_165332.jpg
