What made you smile today?

Candy

Biscuit Tin Guardian
Jason and Sofija arrived and magically the wind, which has been wuthering for about a week, dropped! It was genuinely warm enough to sit outside in jeans and T shirts. We started at 2ish with tea/ coffee and biscuits and at 7ish switched to beer, wine, hummus, guacamole, olives, various salads, breads, cheeses and couscous type stuff. By 9pm all was cleared away and they had gone. Seven hours of non stop talking, laughing, reminiscing, catching up and banter! Just the best, best day for ages! We have been firm friends for a long time, always round to each others' houses for meals, or out to eat together, or going camping , or just catching up in the pub on a Friday evening and I have so much missed the conversations, friendly arguments and banter. We staunchly managed not to hug Goodnight as we usually would have done, but look forward to the time when we can again.
I can't stop smiling just now. Such a lovely time.
GGJ was beside herself with happiness to see them again too!
Pee Ess they also loved my shed!

@Jelinga You must be looking forward to seeing friends now the restrictions have been eased? It must have been a long and difficult year for people living alone. xx
Not really :sun: I still am being 'careful' though did have a cup of tea and cake in next door's garden. I have been fortunate to walk Rourke every day and occasionally meet with a dog walking friend to walk with. Hope your hip is feeling so much better xx

I'm glad you have had company and of course a walk every day with Rourke is the best. My hip is healing, it is a long haul and still a long way to go. Thank you so much for asking Sonia. xxx

It will be worth it to help it heal as well as possible so that you don’t have to have further surgery. Very frustrating, but do you think it’s maybe helped by the current restrictions, as you’re not able to go far anyway?

Thanks Carol. The current restrictions have definitely helped as you say, well at least my sanity!. I can't walk far anyway as the bone has only just about healed but I managed to walk a 100 meters down the road yesterday on one crutch. It is frustrating as I have been told I probably won't be walking independently until May then it's a case of building up muscle and strength. Months until I am back to normal. It will be worth it and hopefully no further surgery but that's not off the cards for 2 years. Sometimes I wish I'd gone for the hip replacement as I would be running around by now xx

You wear two pairs, one under for the usual reasons and one on top to hold the tights up. Obviously they failed in their mission in this case!
This @Xena Dog Princess. This was maybe 25 or 30 years ago and I always found that they crept down and needed the overlaying pair of knickers

These days I don't own a skirt and only wear dresses to the races (without pantyhose). I live in pants (trousers), especially as I now WFH permanently which is AWESOME

Got to smile , I`m sitting here with my new smart phone which I have charged ready to go and by my side is a sim card which I have to activate online and insert plus a memory card which also requires insertion . All must sound so simple to those who have known techy stuff throughout their adult life but I truly dont know what I`m doing  Insert sim , where ?? Insert memory card , oh yes ? This is tortuous , its all like a new language and I`m not ready for it, at all :scared: Might just wait until Emily comes over to the garden later ,its terrifying me
