What made you smile today?

I think this was more about giving customer services at BT a smile this morning
We had a major fault on our landline , reported on 5th May , it necessitated the digging of a hole at the end of our lane, causing some degree of chaos as this is narrow at the best of times . Eventually, they fixed the landline on 12th May but we continued to have issues with our broadband , the blasted hub flashing all colours of the rainbow and so , back to BT via FB . I requested an engineers visit and there then followed texts , e mails and FB messages informing me of ways I could test the wiring myself . I sent the following to BT via FB :
Dear Paddy , thank you for your enduring patience , could I please clarify one or two points please . Firstly , the BT broadband socket which is referred to is on a skirting board and so is low to the ground . We are both well into our 70`s and frankly , if we managed to get down there , it is highly debatable that we would be able to get back up again ! One of us disabled and unable to bend , the other with a vascular problem and would likely require oxygen to enable this movement .
Secondly , we have not got a clue what anyone is talking about , it may as well be in a foreign language, all this talk about testing wires is all very well but if we did by some miracle manage to get onto the floor , the mission would be impossible , please send an engineer x

It would seem to have caused some hilarity , I dont mind , anything to brighten up the day xxx

When I had my shed built, I asked for a simple path leading to it so that I could go to the shed from the house and back without changing my shoes. It was duly built and is very useful, but what really makes me smile is that Joy uses it all the time too, which considering her love of mud and muddy ponds is quite remarkable! I hadn't realised that Capybaras were so......er...I think stately is the word I'm looking for!
Dawn and I did a capybara experience at Wellington Zoo last year - best day of our lives. We weren't allowed to directly touch them and had to stay seated at all times, but they all ran over when their food came out and we got to scratch them with back scratchers. When they're happy their fur bristles up like a porcupine. They 're THE BEST animals.

We had Kipper's 6 month check-up at the vet earlier; OH took him in, and Kipper saw a new vet called Alice. He's lost another 2 kg so is now 32.4kg; the vet said (several times apparently!) that he is 'perfect', his teeth, coat, digestion, heart rate and weight are all great, and - best of all - she said that Kipper was lovely and calm during his examination and comfortable being handled. We're pleased with it all, but particularly the last point; it shows he was content, and our cooperative care (erratic as our training has been in recent months) is paying off.
