it was 2 degrees first thing and there was a light frost. I love it when the season turns colder.
Crikey, I'd never leave the house in Autumn/WInter if I lived there :cold:. London was SO COLD when we were there and what we found the hardest was yes it is cold here first thing in the morning and at night but then warms up during the day to 15-18 degrees in Winter. But it just stayed cold all day long there!!

Beautiful pic @HAH I love all the shadows and light

Labrador shadows are the best!

The colours are late coming this year don't you think? I guess because October has been quite mild. These trees taken on our walk yesterday are usually fullu golden by mid October
I agree entirely - we’ve noticed most things have been at least 2 weeks behind this year, from the sloes to the leaves turning. I think Monty Don mentioned it on Gardeners World the other day too, so it must be true!
I love Kippers interest in that little patch of gravel.
I’m pretty confident he was sniffing for evidence of otters! Sadly not that day but we saw some amazing tracks last week983E62E5-A115-4616-9517-74EA46878CB4.jpeg

Coco & I went to our plantation walk this morning - we've not been since the first lockdown. It was wonderful. Coco had to be on lead for a bit - he was "deaf". I knew there was someone else there as there was a car in the car park. As we were climbing through the trees after a game of fetch, I heard someone, then saw them. I popped Coco's lead on an we tried to carry on toward them. No..he pulled me to me knees, then further face-planted me in the forest floor. I stood up, it was a lady we've walked with once before, that was pre-Meg so a few years ago. She remembered us and remembered Coco' s name! Her Springer, Poppy, was a puppy last time. Now grown up and still not sensible, I let Coco off to greet her. They wheeled and sniffed, she snapped when he pestered her botty too much, Coco can't take a hint . We parted & Coco stayed with me (well me and a promise of a ball-chuck) - yay!. Big smiles for me & Coco.

I don’t see my sons nearly often enough. But, on the upside, I see them every day - sometimes twice - on video call. Anuka insists that Mike calls then Andy can’t resist joining in. Today she was singing a song that she’d learnt at Kindergarten (in German, her third language. I know I keep saying it but I’m Utterly Flabbergasted at her language skills, she’s not two yet!)

Andy is on holiday in Finland near the Arctic Circle with New Girlfriend. He even joined in from there today whilst walking round a frozen lake!
