What made you smile today?

I was washing my car today (long overdue!). The hosepipe (Hoze) went from the back garden, under the back gate (shut - so the dogs cannot escape), along the side of the house to the front of the path where the car was parked. Now Hoze is Coco's favourite game. Ever. He was denied a game of Hoze today as I had washing on the line. Coco (and, it turned out, Meg too) took matters into their own hands/paws/jaws. I was merrily hosing the car but there was a mighty tug from the other end, pulling me back. First I thought I'd just caught it on something, but no, it was definitely being pulled back. And again. I stuffed the nozzle down the grid and went to investigate. The Hoze was jerked out of the grid and flailed about, completely soaking me, the house, next door's house...I opened the gate and there were the 2 culprits, playing tuggy with the Hoze. I had to put them back in the house for the duration of the hosing. Not Happi - they stood in the window, barking at me. Got to love them.

Reuben made me smile this morning when we went to Golitha early . We had our walk which involved much river fun for him and then, heading back to the car we met a lovely local man with his two young Labradors . We stopped for a chat , dogs having a good play in and out of the river and then I began to meander back to the car park whereupon Reuben decided that the man with the two dogs might want another one to join them and began to run after them  I called him, he ignored me which is very unusual for him and so I clipped Nelly onto her lead to back track and found him , sitting by the bench , thankfully he had decided that following his new pals was not the right thing to do  I sat on a tree stump and called him to me , he came so slowly, one step and then a sit etc . I didnt make eye contact until he was right by my side when he put his big wet head on my knee, guilt written all over his face , so I told him he was a good lad for not going far , bless xxx
