When I took Ella to the emergency vet, I popped her muzzle on as we always do for the vet.

She was her usually trembling self when we got there (even though we've never been there before). After four hours, the vet came out to chat and handed me her muzzle.

Firstly she said how fantastic it was that Ella was muzzle trained and how she wished more dogs were happy and comfortable wearing muzzles. Secondly she told me Ella was the bestest girl and she just looooooved her and said that her and the nurses just wanted to cuddle and fuss with her all night 🥰. When she brought Ella out I could see that she was still a little on edge but generally quite calm and obviously liked her new vet friend 🥰

It's madness. Absolute madness. %)

Four months ago we decided we wanted to move. Since then, we've renovated the bathroom and laundry, redecorated the kitchen, sold the house and bought a new house.

Oh, and the new house is 3,500km away in Perth!

The old house settles on 4th Oct and the new house settles on 8th Oct. We're packing and organising the move at the moment, plus all of the other bits an pieces involved in moving to a new state.

The final move will be towards the end of the year when we make the drive with 2 cars, 2 kids and Ella across the Nullarbor. Lots of planning for that one too, especially for Ella and the baiting risks.

Anyway... Back to packing 😆

In my ignorance, I did have to Google the Nullabor desert (HUGE!) and baiting risks - it sounds like massive swathes of the desert are baited with poison to control dingoes and vermin, that would be scary with a dog. And dingoes and wedge tailed eagles can carry off smaller dogs - golly. Yet again, it makes me feel very provincial with our badgers and foxes...

Good luck with all of it and keep us posted, it seems a big adventure to me but for you I'm sure it feels like a mountain ahead. Sending you and the gang gallons of strength and good humour in your preparations x

We had a lovely happy morning when we took Debbie and Silas to Duchy College in Cornwall to enrol on his course . His O level results were not great apart from all the sciences so he will have to resit English and Maths alongside his college course . Quite honestly , he did better than we had dared to hope as he had a complete meltdown during the exams , but he pulled it round with the science subjects and geography . He is now enrolled in grade 1 Animal Health and Welfare which is only a one year course but he can then progress to grade 11 for a two year course . He will have to complete work experience and has already been accepted to do this at a local Veterinary Surgery . He seems to suddenly be interested and excited at the prospect of the course as he loves all animals and country life in general so we are proud of him xx
