This is my first Christmas at home for six years! Earlier in the year it became apparent that two very good friends of mine, who had never met each other, were both going to be spending Christmas alone this year.'We can't have that!' I thought, so I arranged for them to meet, just to be on the safe side, and sure enough, they got on really well and we've since had several really good days out together. So then I invited them both to come for the day at Christmas and they were both delighted.
One of them is bringing a starter, the other is bringing a choice of puddings and I'm doing the main course. We're all really looking forward to it, and I'm just so much enjoying being at home again for Christmas!20241224_183508.jpgWarmest wishes for Christmas to all of you, with love from Joy and me.xxx

Lovely walk this morning, we have sunshine after weeks of gloom. My smile was watching Cass have fun with my son throwing her little snipe dummy (thanks @Jelinga for the introduction) for her to retrieve, she really loves doing it for him. She looked so happy and alert and enjoyed her "work", in her element searching in the thick cover:happy: up and down the banks of the stream.

I walked Finn today in the forest. We encountered another lab who was wearing a cone. We started talking and after a while we found out they were of the same age. They said her name was Anne….I remembered that Finn had a sister called Anne, so I asked where they are from. We discovered that they are brother and sister! What a coincidence! It was so nice to have met them. Anne has the same difficulties and is as naughty as Finn….!
