I smiled at the welcome news that my step son and family have touched down at Manchester after travelling from Thailand where they experienced the storm that hit the islands , thankfully they kept safe . Still struggling to equate the time zone difference though , how they left on Tuesday (today ) Thai time , for a 13 hour flight and have just landed at Manchester on Tuesday morning ! x

I had just set off with Joy for our early evening walk when a woman stopped me, saying "Excuse me, are you a dog walker?' My brain was actually elsewhere at this point so, misunderstanding her question I replied 'Yes' (I was, after all walking a dog!) 'oh good!' she said, 'I've been looking for a dog walker! How do I get in touch and what do you charge?' I then had to explain that what I meant was that I was walking my own dog (feeling slightly foolish by this stage) She replied 'Well! You look just like a dog walker!' sounding a little indignant. This made me not just smile but chuckle out loud once she'd gone. What does a dog walker look like? Me, it would seem!

One of my friends came for coffee today - she is not a dog person but has patiently seen Red through the crocodile pup, adolescent , bouncy dog stages. Red lay at her feet today with one paw resting on my friend’s foot. Friend commented on it - I told her Red liked her - that made her smile which made me smile

I smile this morning when we took Nelly and Reuben to the village school . Silas always has Nelly on lead , and as my daughter and I stood waiting for the gates to open , another Mum , looking at Reuben asked Silas who he belonged to . Quick as a flash Silas replied " He is ours too, our puppy " . Made me so happy x
