What made you smile today?

In my FB memories , I was reminded that on this day last year , I managed to walk for about five minutes unaided and even then , I was shattered ! The consultant had told me that I might never get my fitness levels back again, that's fighting talk to me ! Today , Reuben and me climbed up onto the highest ridge overlooking the Falls ( I call the path Cardiac Hill ! ) and then we walked amongst the ancient trees and rocks, eventually making our way down again , amazing what a year can do xxx

I took Ripple to group gundog training tonight, after about a year away from it. He was so excited that he spent the first 10 minutes squealing with excitement at the top of his voice, consequently it was almost impossible to hear the trainer. The man next to me sat his dog in a really smart off lead sit, and kept glaring at me, then suggested I took Ripple away to stop the noise. Eventually I stopped Ripple by stuffing the squeezy cheese tube in his mouth  .

When it came to his turn Ripple did a lovely retrieve of the dummy, straight out as fast as he could; then later retrieving a dummy another dog couldn’t find. This made me smile as I knew he could do it and he didn’t let me down  .

Excellent work @SteffiS and Ripple :celebrate:! And particularly well done for your calm handling of Mr Stuffybritches, of course Ripple’s bound to be excited after so long away! Pleased he still has such a zest for it x

Do you have a +range trainer near you @step?
Think you meant this for me @Selina27 , it’s the same trainer I used in the past that sacked Ripple from 1-2-1 gundog for eating the pheasant  .

Toffee is doing his novice training with him, and he advertised this as a 'fun' gundog course, so I thought it would work for Ripple. I did give the trainer the opportunity of saying no when I asked about the course as I thought he might not want Ripple there - bet he wishes he’d said no now  . And obviously the bloke next to me was taking it very seriously.

I would say his training is 90% positive, and when bits of old school training pop up I just ignore them and do what I want to do, so that probably doesn’t make me too popular either.

Yes I did, on my mobile too late at night.

MLF makes me smile --- after a brief look at TLF today, I know how lucky I am to have my Labrador friends, truly!
And yes, well, wine and gin may be involved for those of us who are partial, but if not, who cares?:)
We seem to be blessed with a good sense of humour, I think, which helps. It's all too easily to interpret written text with a different emphasis, and I do think on here we don't take offence when none was meant, or read too much into a meaning which wasn't really there in the first place.

And being able to agree to disagree with good grace is an underrated virtue 😁
