What made you smile today?

She’s a lucky girl having you and Red and Sky.
Yes very special times. A big commitment doing the school run as the school is 5/6 miles north of here but it’s not every day and I truly love spending time with her. This morning we had 20 minutes in the car in the car park at school and she enthusiastically read to me - she was disappointed when we had to go in and just made the bell.

You will have your own special times ahead @Boogie - grandchildren are the best thing ever - as well as our Labradors ❤

A tiny article in our local newspaper. Nothing out of the ordinary. But, it is becoming more and more common to see the recommendation of +R methods here in Australia and it makes me so happy to see

We've just finished our antenatal classes and the parenting classes contained so much advice that reminded us of the (useful) bits if advice we received about raising a puppy. I think there is increasing acknowledgement that dogs are a lot like children in many ways and both need to be treated with kindness and patience. The optimist in me says that this will make the world a better place!

Still smiling from Cassie this morning. It was a pleasure on a beautiful May morning to take her out after yet another night shift from hell. We set out to walk around the lake, crossing below the lovely gardens in front of the house belonging to the estate's owners. The gardeners and their dogs 2 labs and a GSD were already starting work, Cassie just had to go and say good morning in her exuberant style, quickly recalling to me after giving the hoomans involved a quick smackeroonie too.
So she legged it back to me, as I was standing below the haha wall, the top of which is on my eye level. She took off in full flight on the edge with absolute precision and sailed over the top of my head in an arc shape , going into full bore zoomies on landing.:cwl:It was such a joy, and just the boost I needed.

So I think to myself, after reading on here what some have to go through, so what if her loose leading walking isn't the best (not her fault) or she wants to eat things I'd rather she didn't, I am so lucky to have a fit happy girl for whom the world holds no fear.
I am touching large amounts of wood as I write. Especially after I said she hardly ever rolls

I do sometimes think we should step back , stop worrying over little issues and be thankful for all the good things our dogs achieve . Reuben is madly excitable , but to be honest , I dont really care ( most of the time ) because he is lovely an
Yep, quite so :)
There is no prefect dog
Couldn't help but smile ---- you know me can't resist a dig at a typo !

Holly @Hollysdad might be a prefect dog. Cassie wouldn't be! She'd be inciting some sort of riot at the back of the class :giggl:

Who are we kidding, the prefect would definitely be a border collie or GSD.

I've only recently started relaxing with Chewie's training and enjoying what a lovely dog he is. So confident and sweet. He makes me smile all the time.

I was feeling a bit down after the recent election and he tried to make me feel better by very persistently throwing his toys at me.

Then, after sleeping all night on his own bed he jumped up on ours at the allowed time and rested his head on OH's chest so very sweetly.

Absolutely! I wouldn't change my neurotic dogs for the world, and working on their issues brings us so close, but it's a real joy to have the daft-as-a-brush Squidge that I just don't have to worry about. Yes, she's far more likely to nick someone's picnic if we ever came across that sort of thing, yes, she can be bonkers and make me tear my hair out. She will grab a child's mittens as they dangle on elastic by her nose, if I'm not on high alert. But all of these things come from a place of happiness and joy, and I just can't bring myself to see them as a real problem :D
