…. but you can’t make him lie on it!! A newly purchased cooling pad, to be exact.
It’s quite hot here this week, and I decided that this summer I would get one of those pads for Simba. Generally he hangs out in the shady part of the garden when it’s hot outside, or under the deck. And when inside he’s downstairs where it is cooler. But at night he sleeps up in our bedroom, which can get very hot when it’s hot outside.
So I thought we could try this, to put on top of his bed. We got it earlier this week and have been putting it in various places around the house where he would normally lie. Simba regards it with Deep Suspicion. I tried putting it on top of his bed in the living room. He refused to lie on it out of his own volition. He will lie on it if promoted and given a treat to do so
but he doesn’t stay there.
It has a vinyl-type cover so I’m wondering it that is the problem- not the fuzzy surface he’s used to.
Do any of you have one of these? Does your dog use them?
