Beautiful on Christmas day in Hucknall, such a good walk with my GGJ, but just the two of us. Boxing day walk with Jenny, her sister and BIL and their two collies (Little Brother unable to join us, due to a very painful toe, see another thread, haven't decided which one yet) and Rain, Rain, Rain! We all walk quite briskly and were well wrapped up, but were starting to feel cold after walking for two hours and were all glad to get back to the cars. At least we didn't have the Wild West Yorkshire Wind though.

My uncle had to cancel lunch with us again because he couldn't leave his rural property... He still hasn't met Rowan because every time he wants to come to Sydney they get told to be prepared for evacuation.

That must be unbelievably worrying and scary to live with for such a sustained length of time. My heart goes out to them and all of you living alongside this threat.

I like fairness in the world and it does seem so unfair at the amount of people who are living in fear for not only drought but fire as well.
I'm fortunate to live in a country with no shortage of water and complain about the amount of it but what is happening in a lot of Australia makes me appreciate the rain.

Thank you @Cupcase

We just saw our PM in the telly saying he had telephoned the widow of the latest young fire fighter to be killed. He was 28 and she is expecting their first child. It is so tragic there are no words.
