Yes, but it's only after the last joint. TBH I think it's immobilised enough with the tape. The doctor is very concerned about the risk of infection (hence the not going outside for a few days, hmmm) and so I think that the priority is the washing of it, which would be hard with the splint.
Ah, that makes sense. Definitely keeping clean a priority. šŸ‘šŸ»

Emily_Babbelhund definitely the current leader in the ā€œFinger Injuries I Have Sustainedā€ stakes....
Yeah, I don't think anyone can top that.

Not going outside seems like strange advice... I mean, don't stick your open wound in the dirt, sure, but don't do outside? Maybe the doctor thought you can't be trusted to not do something gross if you are outside?!

Nails and eyes are the two things that, as a doctor, make me feel a bit ick. I remember assisting in nail surgery and feeling much worse than in any other kind of surgery...

I think she thought I’d be working the land and had all the chickens and goats that most Brits seem to have here.
To be fair to her, I have been wondering what I could be doing on the weekend because the endless pruning of trees and cutting logs is obviously out of the question. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to use the petrol strimmer to do some trimming on bits the tractor and grass cutter can’t reach. But there may be too much vibration. I can’t just sit inside and do nothing so have to find something to do! And, of course, it’s my shutter finger for my camera 😢

OK, in that case....I win, neener neener. :giggl:

@snowbunny still gets the "most gruesome injury photography shared on MLF" prize. I hope you are getting the really good drugs, Fiona. Yes, I keep mentioning drugs, because if you are going to slice your finger nearly off on your beloved dog's back teeth, the only upside is a legal high.
