Not that you're likely that worried about it, but I bet the nail will grow back. The end of my pinkie got burned clean off with bone sticking out and the nail STILL came back. It's a bit weird, but it's there!

Not going outside seems like strange advice... I mean, don't stick your open wound in the dirt, sure, but don't do outside? Maybe the doctor thought you can't be trusted to not do something gross if you are outside?!
Nails and eyes are the two things that, as a doctor, make me feel a bit ick. I remember assisting in nail surgery and feeling much worse than in any other kind of surgery...

I think she thought Iād be working the land and had all the chickens and goats that most Brits seem to have here.
To be fair to her, I have been wondering what I could be doing on the weekend because the endless pruning of trees and cutting logs is obviously out of the question. Iām wondering if Iāll be able to use the petrol strimmer to do some trimming on bits the tractor and grass cutter canāt reach. But there may be too much vibration. I canāt just sit inside and do nothing so have to find something to do! And, of course, itās my shutter finger for my camera
