What made you smile today?

My smile today was by way of helping to reunite a lost dog . We were at the woods , I had just set off when an older lady came towards me with a working type spaniel on a lead , she asked if I recognised the dog , I didnt , and said it had appeared this morning in her garden, she lives in a hamlet in the valley below . As the dog was very wet , she dried if off , then got one of her own dogs leads and decided to walk a few of the trails to see if she could find an owner before taking it to the Vets to check for a chip. We chatted for a moment and then she set off for her cottage , I took her phone number in case I found someone searching for a lost dog and blow me , just fifteen minutes later I came upon a couple who were distraught , asking if I had seen their black working spaniel . The relief was palpable when I told them where they could find her , rang the lady and told her that the owners were on their way . Poor people , they had been searching for three hours , but it was thankfully a happy end to the story . The bitter sweet part was that the lady who found the little dog in her garden had said goodbye to her own dog just yesterday as it had been very poorly with a tumour , bless her for caring for someone elses dog when just having lost hers , there are some kind people xx
