Oh that is a better way of thinking about it, thank you. I loathe these dark nights, so depressing, but now I am going to try and think of it in a more positive frame of mind.

Joy does a similar thing every morning. I put my jacket on, put treats, poo bags, ball etc etc in pockets, then sit down to put my boots on. Every single day now Joy checks to see that the ball in in my pocket at this point. I think I have forgotten it twice in five years, she still has to check though !

but occasionally forget the treats. She’ll look at me but understands what I’m saying. I always feel bad but it doesn‘t seem to bother her and she gets quite a few when we get home
Interestingly, a man in the woods the other day said that his dog won't bother me as I don't carry treats on me.
No don’t feel bad. Sky never had treats. It was just something we never did on walks. When we got Red - all training was treat orientated so it became our new way. F still maintains it isn’t necessary (but he goes out with a little pot of treats
)
