Homer being sick

Homer had a great weekend Mantrailing through water, I've put up a video on Facebook. He is doing so much better with me being at home. Still brings up small amounts occationally but these are usully not much more than a tablespoon full. Not sure yet if he is putting on any more weight yet. I hope that we'll start to see a difference soon as more is staying in. I now monitor everything and record it all on a spreadsheet.

Yes, I saw that FB video - lovely!
You'd never know he'd been so ill !

He is doing well taking into consideration how horrendous this condition is.
He has a great day yesterday until I gave him extra goats milk with his dinner on his lick mat. He was hungry and asking for more. Later at 10pm he had horrible tummy gurgles and vomited up more than a quater of his dinner. He needs every last little crumb to try to get more weight on to him. I'm going to take him to be weighed later this week. Last week he had a bad week and went down to 29.6kg when he was more than 33kg before this all started. I have some Buddy and Lola weight gainer that I was using before but when the RVC vet changed his diet I stopped everything else apart from Sildenafil.

Poor Homer and poor you. I can imagine how you felt when he started being sick after such a good few days. I know I’m late catching up with Homer’s condition and from what I’ve read you and your vet have tried everything but I was wondering if they’ve ever given you anything for Homer when he starts regurgitating/vomiting continuously like the previous night? Scout was prescribed Lansoprazole which is a human drug to stop stomach acid. It helped a lot. Scout would have vomiting/regurgitation problems because of the anti inflammatories he was on and I had to be careful because of his laryngeal paralysis and the chance of aspiration pneumonia. (Sorry if you’ve already tried it or it’s not suitable and I’ve missed that post.)

Are you giving the omeprazole in the morning @JES72 ?
In hoomans, if the issues are overnight, or later in the day, it can be helpful to try at night or before evening meal.
You have done so much already, this has probably been tried.

I was giving it twice a day but the last box we collected from the vet said only once per day so I've been giving it in the evening. I'm not sure why the change in dose.

I have to confess that I had forgotten to give him the omaprazole the night before he was retching, although have missed a dose here or there before without any effects on him.

This morning he regurgitated a small amount of food 5 minutes after giving him his sildenafil liquid medication so I'm concerned that it didnlt absorb into his system, yet his breakfast has gone down as normal, will wait to see.
