Just for the record, I've received a repayment of £76 for not having claimed for Cassie last year. It covers the first two payments for this 12 months.

I pay £986 a year for Rourke with Pet Plan. You probably have a higher premium as you live in an affluent area and vets fees are higher? I have certainly had my money's worth. £3400 does sound a lot of money! I agree, we cannot risk not insuring them. Pet Plan have never argued and always paid up straight away. However, I am only insured for £4,000 and now have to pay some of the claim.Petplan have now sent through my insurance renewal quote - an increase of nearly £650 on last year to over £3400 for both dogs. So I've spent the morning sorting out a new insurer and have even saved £450 on last year's price. The quote is like for like - same cover, same excesses, etc. It's still a lot to pay, but I can't risk not insuring them after all this time. Petplan didn't even offer to look at the renewal quote again when I phoned to cancel.
When when spill the beans!!!!and the next dogs.
I would have had a pup now but unfortunately the bitch reabsorbed the litter so I'm waiting at the moment. I would love a pup from this pairing as they are both absolutely stunning. The mum is Ivers sister. I just hoping there is a litter next timeWhen when spill the beans!!!!
Yes, I think so - London and the South East are apparently the most expensive areas for pet insurance. Pet Plan has been very good for mine when I’ve had a couple of claims in the past, but the cost has really escalated. You probably have a higher premium as you live in an affluent area and vets fees are higher?
I’ve gone with John Lewis, as my car insurance is cheapest through them. Each dog is for up to £7500 vet fees, with £100 excess + 20% on all vet bills because they are both over 9. Pet Plan‘s renewal was for £7000 for each dog, with £135 excess + 20% of all bills. I didn’t look at any others, as I was so relieved to get a much lower quote! It was also walk time (and lunchtime) by the time I had sorted it!What company did you use?

That is reassuring as my car insurance is with John Lewis!
Oh, so MAJOR stuff up in my post above. Switch the word MONTH for FORTNIGHTWhen we first took out Ella's insurance it was $41 per month.
Last year it was up to $81 per month and we just had our renewal and it's jumped to $105 per month. That's a 30% increase. Criminal.
Found this on line @Jennifer I don't know if it helps or not

Pet Insurance - Penalised for being an existing customer
I've currently got Pet Insurance with Tesco and I've been with them since 2016. My cat is now 9years and 9months old and my dog is 4years and 2months old.forums.moneysavingexpert.com
It’s insane isn’t it. We paid £25 for Stanley initially and now it’s £91. And I’ve claimed once for some lump removals which cost approx £500.Oh, so MAJOR stuff up in my post above. Switch the word MONTH for FORTNIGHT
$105 per fortnight or $2,740 per year.
Might be time to scrap the insurance and just keep the savings set aside.
