I will tell you a secret, Amiga Sonia: in fact we dogs get even MORE handsome when we are old. So this is how I know that Rourke is more guapo than me by far. Thanks everyone! Carbón may have been completely unworried (as is his way 
) but the kidney problems and Leishmania were really hanging over my head. I’m SO relieved that his special diet helped so much. Apparently I’ve been overdosing him on fat - I was underdosing on fat last fall so apparently now I’ve gone too much in the other direction - but that’s easy enough to adjust.
He’s also got something funky going on with how he’s digesting protein, so I need to capture some wee in the wild - always fun
- but the doctor isn’t too concerned. He’ll just need some supplements for a while depending on his wee test.
He’s also not anemic (he flips back and forth and we’ve never known why), which is great too.
What this means for the Señor practically-speaking is that I’m less likely to fall for the whole “Oh poor little me - I can’t possibly walk up that big hill (at dinner time) and could you please lift me up on the bed because I just feel so weak!”
Yes, he’s been doing that lately. Had me worried, but now he’s been officially found out as a faking faker!

You must be so relieved @Emily_Babbelhund that Sn Carbon's health problems are so very much improved. Oh yes, they do learn fast to get what they want! Rourke has left small amounts of his meal with remains of pills in it the last two days, so I get something really tasty from the fridge and mash it altogether so he eats it. This morning, he left some of his meal (not contaminated with pill remains!) and obviously expected me to get something extra delicious from the fridge to mash it up with! Hola amigos! We went on a leeetle adventure yesterday in one of our favorite nearby villages, Abensburg. ML said she would really rather go to St Ives, but as we are too far away, we just have to do our best to love where we are and try not to miss where we are not.
It was a leeetle divertido, kind of funny, because in theory Abensburg was having a BIG festival all weekend, but we only saw about ten people! Maybe all the people come at night? But the people we saw smiled and said hello to us, which is already much more friendly than Regensburg. I think we are more small town gente now, sabes, you know?
Pues, sadly it was very hot which meant that I melted and ML got grumpy so we did not stay long or take many photos. The best part of the trip, to be honest, was the 30 minutes in our air conditioned car!

Mmmm…yeah, I agree. It’s lovely that people tried to help, but someone could have been injured trying to save a van which had been deliberately parked too near the sea. We (Carbón and I
) saw that van last time at Harlyn and even then thought it was weird that they’d parked it so close to the water and right in the beach vs the car park. Better for business, but not good for the chances of having your van washed away. Oh well, at least no one was hurt and it turned out to be mostly just a funny story!

Amigos, amigos! ML has booked us a holiday at the sea! I will be able to snuffle and swim to my heart’s content, though as it is a lagoon, there will be no surfing. But la cosa más importante is that we have something to look forward too as we are both feeling a bit down, qué lástima.
Where are we going? It is not hard to guess: ML is soooo predictable.
We have to wait all the way to the end of September, but that is ok. It is WAY to hot for us in Venice now: I am already melting in 30 degrees here in Regensburg. Ojalá!
And another surprise: the owner of the apartment we have reserved remembered ML and Brogan from a time maaaaany years ago when she rented a different apartment from the same Signora for two months.

Late September in Venice is the perfect time and something to look forward towards. How lovely the Signora remembered you. It is cold here, I am sitting having a late breakfast and shivering! I would rather be chilly though than too hot!
