What made you smile today?

Had my cancer recheck today and at the five year mark was told FINALLY that my odds of survival have gone up AND I get to chance to only once yearly exams like a normal human again. Plus I got my letter from my doc to renew my residence permit later this week. I HATE going to the hospital and I'm not sure any of that made me actually smile, but it was good news all around and I'm very grateful. :)
Wonderful just wonderful, now thats made me smile:monkey:

Amazing! I’d love to go back to studying and get a doctorate. What was the title of your thesis?
I’m not sure I’d recommend a doctorate, it’s too raw o_O but definitely go back to studying- there’s so much to learn!
My thesis is looking at the diagnostic accuracy of cognitive tests when used to help identify dementia in general practice. Summary: they’re not brilliant, and they could be a lot better...

I think that may well be because the cognitive tests to help identity dementia that have proved to be most accurate take much longer than a standard GP appointment. I used to spend a good hour/ hour and a half with the person and family before I felt I had enough information, often we sent for further testing. I have known the process take a year or more.

Oooo Jen, you in danger, girl! Orvis will suck you in and take all your USD!

Hope you're having fun in spite of missing Stanners. :)
I was very reserved and only bought 2 toys. OH practically manhandled me out of the shop when I started questioning how big the dog beds were and whether realistically I could get one through customs.

So I went mad in Macy’s instead and spent a fortune on the other baba 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oooh Jen, how are you enjoying New York? Isn't it just amazing?
It was very.. different.

I’ve had a good time and really pleased we went - I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I hadn’t been pregnant. I don’t think I’ve ever been as tired as I am right now - and we still have a 7 hour flight then a journey from Heathrow to go yet. Only about 14 hours until we’ll be home 😖

But when I get there there will be a real life angel waiting for meeeeee :monkey:
