Updates on Mas.

Can you snooze on the sofa for an hour or so :) As @Jacqui-S has commented, wind is good! Great that Maz managed to pass a hard poo yesterday... probably a bit chaotic in his tum right now so resting is a good idea for both of you

A good walk will probably be good for both of you, but try to have a bit of sleep while Mas is asleep. You've coped brilliantly so far, but tiredness certainly doesn't help when you're anxious.

Yes Maslow will be grieving and also picking up your sadness and worry. Can you take him for a little walk to see if you can get things moving and perhaps some fresh air will cheer both of you up. It has been a terrible time for you, losing Leo and Maslow being ill, try and take care of yourself which I know is incredibly difficult.

The barium will have come out as hard, white/light stool. Nice to see some poo there, even if it is squishy. I can only echo the others, please please take care of yourself too.

Is Maz still on meds to help motility? If things are returning back to normal, maybe they will be causing things to "rush" through so to speak?

When Scooby was on antibiotics (I forget which one) he had the foulest wind I have ever smelled. And lots of it. So try not to worry about any icky wind. And yes, they can make for a runny bum too.

Ahh, so antibiotics, meds to reduce gastric acid, and Metoclopramide which is the one to help keep the gastric contents moving. Looking at that I expect you will have a few more days of odd poos and wind until things settle down to normal :)

He’s currently on:

Metrobactin 2 x day
Omeprazole 1 x day
Ranitidine 3 x day
Probind 2 x day
Metoclopramide 2 x day
His bowels are moving. Passing wind. For a dog with illeus that's an improvement.
Metrobactin can cause diarrhoea.
Omeprazole and metoclopramide are both prokinetics which can cause diarrhoea too.
Probind helps with a formed stool. I think ranitidine is neutral.
Remember it's not a blockage that has to clear.
The bowel just stopped working.
I'm guessing the GI food is pretty low residue so not going to bulk Mas's Stool up too much.
