Just to add—I cleaned it with some Hibitane, which removed the small amount of blood from where the scab came off. There’s fresh pink skin where the scab was, which I believe is normal. It actually looks good!

There was a hard dark scab but he already rubbed it off.. hopefully that doesn’t cause any issues 😩

Took the cone off last night, though he may not look like it- he was very happy to be cone free!

He’s begrudgingly accepted his fate, he has become one with the cone :giggl: Honestly, I think I’m more upset than he is 😅 It bled some which got me worried that the stitches came out too soon, but I had to remind myself a little bit of bleeding is normal. So much harder when it’s your own baby!

Sutures are out but he still has to wear a cone for a couple of days 😩 because it’s in such a delicate area they just want to make sure he doesn’t scratch/rub it while it finishes healing.

Hopefully the last day with the cone! 🤞

I got Hugo’s biopsy results back this morning — it was a benign growth called a hemangioma. Such a relief! I did miss the vet’s call, and by the time I called back she was in surgery, so I haven’t been able to ask any follow-up questions yet. From what I’ve read, these can sometimes be caused...

Lol oh no! Smart cookies they are! Axel was truly not a fan either, he ate his cone of shame %):cwl: I’ll never ever forget that, especially the throwing it up 5 weeks later part.

I’ve booked him in for the 10th recovery day to have his sutures removed, so 6 more nights to go, but who’s counting. I just hope they will be ready to be removed and not taken out prematurely. But I’m sure they will know if it will be too soon!

That might work… but he’s basically part worm 🐛 — loves wriggling against the couch, the carpet, the grass, the sidewalk… I wouldn’t trust him 😅

Took Hugo outside for a ‘gentle and controlled leashed walk’ around the yard to sniff. Well, you can see how that went 🤪

Awful, isn’t it?! I’m not sure what’s worse at this point, the bruised legs or almost being decapitated every time he jumps on the couch to curl on my lap :cwl:

Pros and cons I suppose! Hugo is less careful now and tries to plow through everything, my legs included :facepalm: but it’s nice to see him more himself so I’ll take it!
