This is a picture of Harley’s leg/hock/paw. It is her right rear. As you can see, she doesn’t straighten it and her paw isn’t flat. She’s been struggling more as the day has gone on 😢

She was a bit restless last night, but a bit better today. She’s having a chill day today.

Harley is quite sleepy but won’t settle. Her tongue is poking out and has been since she’s been home. Is this normal? She’s not done this before. She eaten a bit, but won’t drink. Any ideas/ thoughts?

Just got home. X-rays been sent to specialist- will get answers in a few days. They can see swelling but are unsure why / what! Needle biopsies taken and sent off which will also be a few days. Just have to wait now.

Sorry for the silence. Harley is having X-rays and biopsies on Monday. The vets think it a a tumour. I’m still processing everything they have said and our options. Harley is generally ok and being very affectionate. I will update more when we know.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. We are hanging in there and doing what we can to keep her moving without aggravating it more. We are currently chilling in the garden in the beautiful sunshine (Harley is led in the shade as too warm for her).

The antibiotics are going in every day, but unfortunately she isn’t really getting any better. She is eating better, but the swelling hasn’t gone down and she won’t put her foot flat still. My OH took her up the road for a very short walk as she kept pestering him and sitting by her collar and...

We are managing to get the antibiotics in her by putting in butter and pushing to the back of her mouth. We are then praising her loads and giving her fuss and a few pieces of chicken. This seems u to o be helping and she’s not running away as much. Eating is still an issue. She’s having g...

This is what we ended up doing this morning after speaking to the vet. We put butter on it. Harley shuts down and gets highly stressed at the vets so we didn’t feel taking her in other day was suitable.

Yes. We booked some chicken and she usually lives drinking the juice from it so we put an antibiotic in it……she sniffed and walked away from it 😢

What a nightmare morning. I tried cheese, pate and peanut butter. It got to the stage that she wouldn’t come near me or eat anything, even treats. I called the vet who suggested concentrating on just the antibiotics by crushing it, adding water and syringing it into her mouth. I managed to get...

just tried this and she sniffed the first piece (which didn’t have one in) and walked away 😢

Trying go to get the tablets into her isn’t working. Last night they were crushed into her tea and she ate it. This morning we crushed them in her breakfast which has sat untouched for the past 45 minutes.

Vets think Harley has an infection in her hock as it is swollen and hot to touch. She’s on antibiotics, doggy paracewith codine and metacam. We have to go back next Thursday to check that things are improving. She’s struggling to walk and her front left paw which is where arthritis is the worst...
