Tick and flea products are killing birds and bees

I think that is important if there is heart worm around.

    Barking in his crate.

Have you thought of a crate in your bedroom? When I had puppies I initially had them in a cardboard box beside my bed and they soon learned to be independent and stay downstairs. I remember my first GSP way back in 1984, she howled for ages at night (before I thought of the cardboard box)...

Tick and flea products are killing birds and bees

I read somewhere that vets are not advocating flea treatments as they used to do.

Tick and flea products are killing birds and bees

That had never occurred to me before! I never use flea prevention and never had the need to do so. I don't think it should be used routinely, unless a real need. I have never liked the thought of my dogs having chemicals in their blood stream or their coats.

    Galliprant for arthritis

I think while they have quality of life, Lilly appears happy, enjoys walks and food, then they cope. Try Ketamine.

    Galliprant for arthritis

Rourke had a ketamine injection once a month when he had his Librella. He was also on gabapentin and paracetamol. I think we tried Galliprant way back but it caused him to bleed internally.

It must have been a lovely surprise to see the old photos, but also tugged at the heartstrings, they are photos to treasure now you have found them.

    Vets of today

Good gracious @Jacqui-S, that is a terrible mark up price for Gabapentin! How can the vets justify that! I suppose there is a dispensing fee included, but even so!

    Vets of today

@Cath, I think the high cost of vet care in UK is due to the big companies buying up practices and it now being a business for profit. There is a slight turn of the tide here, an independent vet is opening locally and one has opened in a small town 7 miles away, their prices are considerably lower.

@Cath, thank you, that is very helpful, more than I have found on other sites.

I could provide a step up. Rourke would never, ever go on the sofa and chose to lay on his bed at my feet! I am just a worry guts and will probably manage to keep her on the floor - I hope!

Thanks @Cath. Flicka jumps on the sofa in the evening, just once to sleep the evening away. Would that be OK?

    Poppy not eating!!!

@MellowYellow, it does sound more that she has a stomach bug, but I do understand your concern, we do worry about our dogs.

    It's a boy!! (Welcome ODIN)

Rourke was on kibble and rarely drank at all! Flicka doesn't drink very much either but certainly more than Rourke did. Perhaps it is do with their metabolism?
