He had a small supper of fish and rice , managed to hang onto it and as instructed by the Vet he has had a very small breakfast of the same , so far so good . He seems ok in himself so fingers crossed for him, we are off in half an hour xxx Thank you for all your good wishes xx

Just adding to my earlier reply , I also believe that in these situations , our dogs feel comforted by being put on leads, its like a secure place for them where they know we have their backs and feel more safe because of it x

I think you did the right thing . Reuben is very sociable except with brachy type dogs like French Bulldogs , our Vet explained that some dogs see their open mouths and grunty breathing as pending aggression so I always slip Reubens lead on if we see one coming . Pay no heed to the woman ...

My lovely boy out with me this lunchtime . I took him for a 20 minute walk, no sign of his limp but I wanted to play safe for a couple more days . Looking at this photo, Reuben is not overweight , he looks grand to me anyway xxx

I always thought he looked too skinny, given his height , so am not remotely worried about a few extra kilos xxx
